27 Jan 10 - 04 Feb 10

Okay, so I know some of you are wondering why I'm sending you an email today instead of yesterday. That's cause yesterday, the whole mission was in the temple all day because it was our "reward" for being the number one English mission in baptisms. Joy.

So, here's my story. Yesterday, I felt prompted to go on an all day fast. I was fasting for me as well as for someone I have/had been teaching. The whole day, I felt as if my prayers were going unanswered. Sure I felt good, but I think that's to be expected in the temple. So during the last session I was in, something... interesting happened.

Rumor was going around that there was an apostle in the session. I didn't know who it is because I really don't know my apostles except for Ballard and Holland and this guy was not either of those two (I don't include the first prez in this list bytheway). I didn't really care because it wasn't a big deal to me. Plus, I don't listen to rumors. I want to hear it straight from the horses mouth if I'm going to believe anything.

So in the waiting room before we enter the session, this guy was sitting on the other side of the room from me. Then halfway through the session, rumor starts to go around that this guy is Elder Richard G. Scott. Don't ask me how it got around during the middle of a session. Just know, it did.

Still I wasn't freaking out about it like everyone else was. If it was, so what? Apostles are just ordinary guys too... sort of.

A third of the way through the session, I find myself sitting right next to the guy. That was weird as well because in the beginning I wasn't sitting anywhere near the guy. By the end, a thought starts to go through my head. "Let's say this is Elder Richard G. Scott. Maybe he's the answer to your prayers... What are the odds of an apostle being in the same session as you let alone sitting right next to you. This must be an answer to your prayers." So I lean over and ask him, "Are you Elder Scott?" He leaned over and answered me, "Why, yes I am." So I replied, "I've been fasting and praying all day and I think you might be my answer. Is it okay if we talk?" He said sure and we ended up talking in one of the sealing rooms.

That was about it. No, I'm not going to talk about what we talked about so deal with it. All in all, yesterday was a good day. I certainly know that Heavenly Father ALWAYS answers your prayers. Sometimes it might even be in the form of an apostle... Just kidding.

As far as everything else goes, my Spanish is beginning to pick up. I can still only understand certain words and I can't speak any sentences yet but that's better than nothing. Line upon line, precept upon precept. Here a little and there a little. I guess that's how I work with Spanish. If there are any other questions that anyone else has, let me know.

I don't know what else to say.

Later.
